Should I Adjust Peat Moss Ratio with Coast of Maine Lobster & Crab Compost?

I've found the Coast of Maine Lobster & Crab compost online and noticed it comes with sphagnum peat moss. I'm wondering if I can safely use it in a 1:1 ratio for my compost mix, or if I should make adjustments for the peat moss content?

Mel's recommendation is to use a mix of composts from at least three to five sources. If your shellfish compost is part of that, the peat moss content is really diluted, so you can ignore it when adjusting your ratios.

You'll be good either way with the peat moss! It works just fine in your compost mix. Just go for it!

The Lobster and Crab compost is fantastic! I've used it combined with the Castine blend, and it does wonders for my tomatoes and peppers.

Good to know! I might have to try that blend!
