Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing well! I'm based in Brazil, and I'm in the market for a screwdriver and drill that I can use around the house. I mostly need it for light tasks like putting together furniture, doing some basic screwing into wood, and occasionally drilling into masonry to hang up pictures or install a clothesline for my wife. This will be for personal use, nothing heavy-duty. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

It might be tricky to give specific recommendations without knowing what's available in Brazil. If you have access to the DeWalt range, the DCD798 or 799 hammer drills could be great choices. They’re compact, lightweight, and can handle masonry along with screwing tasks, so you won't need a separate tool for that. If you're looking for something more robust, the DCD805 is a solid option, but it's pricier and you might not really need its extra durability for home use. All these models typically come in kits with a battery and charger, which is a nice bonus!
I found the DCD798 on Amazon! Does it also work as a screwdriver?
I'd suggest considering an impact driver instead of a standard drill. You can drill with impact drivers using hex shank bits, and they excel at driving screws. From my professional experience, I often skip the drill because the impact driver does the job just as well, if not better!

I couldn't find those specific models available here in Brazil, but I'm considering the DCD805 since it covers both drilling and screwing.
