I'm currently working a landscaping job focused on vegetation control, which involves a lot of weedeating in wild areas. I've been running into numerous ant piles and constantly deal with ants crawling up my boots and biting my legs. It's getting really annoying, and I'm fed up with having itchy legs every day. I can't use traditional ant killers since the ants are so numerous and will just move to a new mound. I need some effective tips or tricks to avoid getting bitten all the time!

Covering your boots and pant legs in ash can deter ants as well. I used to see some success with that approach. Some people also swear by wrapping plastic bags and tape around their boots to create a protective barrier—it may look funny, but it can save you from those annoying bites!
Try taping your pants to your boots! It sounds a bit silly, but it might help keep those pesky ants from crawling up your legs. Also, when I used to do similar work in Georgia, I always kept Benadryl and Neosporin handy for the bites. Tucking your pants into your boots and wearing two pairs of socks might give you an extra layer of protection too.
