How to Solve a Constantly Wet Corner in My Garden?

Hey everyone! A couple of years ago, we switched our garden from all gravel to all grass so our kids could play, but I've run into a problem. The back left corner of the garden is always boggy—it never really dries out, even during the summer! There are some empty garden beds on the left and back, but they're mostly in the shade. I'm looking for advice on what I can plant in these beds to help absorb some of the excess water. I don't care much about colors, but low maintenance is key since I'm still learning the ropes of gardening!

If your garden is always wet and shady, you might want to consider planting some bog-loving plants. They thrive in those conditions! Plus, creating a little frog or toad habitat could be fun for the kids. You don't need a full pond, just a moist, shaded area where water can collect will do the trick!

Have you thought about planting a specimen tree? A Weeping Willow or a Birch tree could help soak up a lot of that water! Red Dogwood is another option known for loving wet soil.

Thanks for the suggestion! I've been interested in a willow tree, but I'm unsure how much space they need. I can picture the kids playing under it once it grows!
