I'm working on a project with my shed that has a flat metal roof sloping at about 20 degrees, and it faces south. The roof doesn't have standing seams or ridges, just flat steel with shingle patterns pressed into it. I'm trying to figure out how to mount rails securely on it. My main concern is whether I need to screw the mounts directly into the metal and how to prevent issues like leaking and rusting from that. The roof is 7.5 meters long, so I'd like to do this right!

I'd recommend checking out RT mini roof mounts. They are designed for similar setups and could be perfect for your situation. You can see more about them here: roof-tech.us/pages/rt-mini.

Ah, got it! So it’s really just a mix of flashing and sealant to keep those holes waterproof. Thanks for clarifying!
