Hey everyone! I'm not usually one to post here, but I'm diving into the world of plants and just got my very first one – a Venus flytrap! I'm really hoping for some advice on how to take care of it. What's the best way to water it, what temperature should it be in, and should I be feeding it live bugs? Any tips you have would be much appreciated!

Venus flytraps thrive on direct sunlight, so make sure it gets plenty of that! They love to stay moist, so use distilled or rainwater instead of tap water. As for feeding, stick to live bugs every couple of weeks. Keep the temperatures between 20°C and 30°C during the day, and let your plant rest in winter by cutting back on watering and lowering the temperature a bit. Hope this helps!
Honestly, Venus flytraps can be a bit tricky for beginners. If you’re just starting out with houseplants, I suggest starting with easier ones like pothos or snake plants. They've got a better reputation for being low-maintenance!
Starting with a Venus flytrap? That's ambitious! Good luck! If it doesn't go as planned, a Pothos is a great next choice. They’re super easy and you’ll learn loads about caring for plants along the way!
Haha yes, I was hesitant to get it at first but I've always wanted one. So here I am ? hope all works out!

Oh wow. yes, that really helps! Thank you so much!
