Creative Ideas for Leftover Sleepers in the Garden

I've just finished building my raised beds, but now I have some leftover sleepers—specifically a 3m piece and a 2m piece. I'm wondering what I can do with them. Besides the obvious idea of making a smaller raised bed for the kids to plant veggies, I'd love to hear any creative suggestions. From benches to unique garden projects, what have you done with similar materials? Feel free to share photos of your creations too! I also have other bits of timber that could be used in these projects.

A bench could be a fantastic use for those sleepers! Here’s an idea: at a recent event, we made a bench and even engraved a nice quote on it with a laser cutter. It turned out really nice! Here's a pic of it. If you're thinking of something like that, it could add charm to your garden.

That sounds awesome! I was thinking about incorporating a bench for a small Japanese style garden I'm planning on the side of my house.

You could definitely use those sleepers as garden edgings or borders! If you bury them into the ground and secure with stakes, they could create a neat boundary. Alternatively, if your garden has any slopes, consider making a small retaining wall. Also, they can be great for crafting benches or even a rustic path in your garden!
