I've been talking to roofers, remodelers, and other trades about the importance of online reputation management. Most customers discover businesses through Google Maps and rely heavily on reviews before making contact. A few negative reviews or not enough reviews can really hurt visibility. I'm curious to hear how others in our field are boosting their 5-star reviews and maintaining a strong online presence. Do you ask for reviews in person, follow up with customers, or use any special tools?

I always pay close attention to how business owners respond to any less-than-perfect reviews. There's nothing wrong with asking satisfied customers for their feedback, either. Many clients just forget to leave a review unless reminded.
If you really want to get reviews, just be sure to do great work. A lot of customers won't leave feedback, but you should definitely ask them once and explain how much it helps your business. Just don’t overdo it—that can come off as desperate. Building a strong offline reputation through referrals is key, since great service usually speaks for itself anyway!
Totally agree! Personal recommendations are the best way to get new clients.
As a customer, I don't put much trust in online reviews—especially the all 5-star ones. I tend to ignore those and focus on the one-star reviews instead. I've seen some terrible contractors who still manage to get 5-star ratings, so authenticity is a big concern for me.

Exactly! A simple reminder can go a long way. Most folks just don’t think about it.
