Sump Pump Emergency: Flooding Basement Needs Immediate Fix!

I'm in a real bind right now—both of my sump pumps have stopped working, and with our basement flooding, we're talking about significant losses! It's past 9pm, so a plumber isn't an option. I'm looking for any quick advice on what to do. We're also experiencing issues with drainage; it's just not working. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

You might want to head to a nearby hardware store and grab a couple of new sump pumps. Alternatively, consider using a manual water pump to get the water out in the meantime.

Definitely check the discharge area to make sure there’s nothing blocking it—sometimes weeds or debris can cause problems. Also, take a look at your breaker; a tripped GFCI could be the issue if both pumps went out at once.

If you can get to a Home Depot or Lowe’s before they close, you could buy a new sump pump and connect it to a garden hose. Just put the pump in the water and lift the float manually as a temporary fix. Also, check if there's a rent-all store nearby for larger pumps.
