Why is the water from my Aloe plant yellow?

I recently watered my tigertooth aloe plant, and I noticed that the water draining out of the bottom was yellow. I doubt this discoloration is just from the crushed eggshells I added to the soil. Is this normal, or should I be worried about it?

It's totally normal for the water filtering through soil to have some discoloration. Many times, it's just the natural breakdown of materials in the soil, especially if you've added things like eggshells. No need to panic!

Ah, I see! I was worried there might be something toxic in the soil I got. Thanks for putting my mind at ease!
