Why is My Polyurethane Finish Not Drying Glossy on One Piece?

Hey everyone! I'm a bit puzzled and hoping to get your insights. I'm working on some pine wood pieces and applied Minwax Warm Satin Polyurethane finish after staining. Most of the wood looks great and has that nice glossy finish, but one piece is just not cooperating! On one side, it's drying very matte. I've already tried mixing a fresh can and even sanded the side again, but no luck. Anyone have an idea why this could be happening? Thanks a lot!

It sounds like you've run into a common issue! Just to note, Warm Satin is usually on the matte side, so if you're looking for more shine, you might want to switch to a gloss or semi-gloss finish. But since all your other pieces turned out glossy, maybe there's something different about the surface of that one piece. It could be anything from the wood prep to excess stain residue affecting adhesion.

That makes sense! I get thrown off because the others look good. Guess I'll need to check the prep on that one. Thanks!
