I've got a project where I need to swap out a Micro-B port for a Type-C one. I'm looking for a surface mount device (SMD) that will fit in the same footprint and already has the necessary pull up/down resistors integrated. I specifically need it to support USB 2.0 power and data. I've come across a couple of options on eBay, but I'm not sure if they have the right pinouts and if they'll securely attach without anchoring legs. If anyone has experience with this kind of conversion, I would love your recommendations on where to find a suitable port!

Honestly, this kind of conversion is pretty tricky because of the different types and orientations of the ports. I wouldn't recommend taking the risk.
You’re probably not going to find a drop-in port that fits exactly like that. A better alternative might be to look for a USB-C board that can connect in the original port's location instead. Just a heads-up though, that might take some additional wiring!

I see what you mean, but I actually linked two ports that look like they could work. They might have just the setup I need!
