Can I Drill Holes in a Cinderblock Wall for Drainage?

I'm laying down pavers in my yard, but the walls surrounding the area lack proper drainage. There's a street drain on the other side of one of these walls, so I'm wondering if I can simply use a hammer drill with masonry bits to make some holes in the cinderblock wall for drainage. After drilling, do I need to insert any kind of tube or material into the holes to keep everything looking good and to prevent wall damage? Thanks in advance!

Drilling small holes should work well for your drainage needs. If you're thinking about larger holes, it’s a good idea to use some kind of tubing or a cap to protect the wall. By the way, if this wall is meant to handle water, did you consider adding a proper drainage line? It might save you some trouble in the long run!

Thanks for the info! What size do you consider as small holes? Would 1" work? Just to clarify, this wall is just separating my backyard from the street and there’s no dirt to soak up the water.
