What’s the Best (and Cheapest) Way to Fix a Hole in My Wall?

I accidentally punched a hole in my wall, and I'm wondering if using a simple patch kit is enough to fix it. I'm also open to other suggestions if anyone has better ideas! ?

Using a patch kit could definitely work, but if the hole is larger, you might want to check out "California drywall patch" on YouTube for a more thorough method. But hey, consider your feelings, too! If you really need to punch walls to cope, maybe think about some therapy. Repairs can take time and get expensive if you hire a pro!

Haha, that’s solid advice! Let’s hope this stays the top answer.

If the hole is about the size of a golf ball or bigger, you might want to do a little more work. Get some scrap drywall from a building store—it's usually pretty cheap. Use a hole saw to cut out the damaged area and fit in your drywall piece. Adding some screws and mudding it over is key. Sounds like a lot, but it's straightforward and a good lesson to avoid bad days!

For the absolute cheapest fix, you could just use duct tape to cover the hole. But if you want to do it right, for small holes, grab some spackle and fill it in. For medium holes, you can use lathe strips to support it and spackle over the patches. Bigger holes will need a scrap piece of drywall and some extra steps, but it’s not too hard or costly to fix it properly!
