My Bathroom Cabinet Is Falling Apart – Should I Fix It or Ask My Landlord?

I'm renting, and my bathroom cabinet is really falling apart. I'm not sure if I should attempt to fix it myself or if I should reach out to my landlord to handle the repairs. It feels like the only real solution might be to replace the entire vanity, but I'm curious if my landlord would even consider doing that. It's pretty frustrating! It looks like your cabinet is made of MDF, which isn't the best material and can break down over time, especially if it gets wet. If that's the case, you might be dealing with wear and tear. But don’t lose hope! It could just be the kickboard and side panel that need replacing. You might not have to swap out the whole cabinet.

If you just have damage to the kickboard and side panel, those can often be replaced pretty easily without having to get rid of the entire cabinet. Before you decide to repair it or call your landlord, check if it's an easy DIY fix. If not, definitely bring it up with your landlord; they might have a solution in mind!
