What Do Mature Succulents Look Like?

I'm really curious about mature succulents and what they look like after years of care and growth. Do they all develop into tree-like shapes like jade plants? I'd love to see some pictures of mature ones!

Not all succulents turn into trees; they all have different growth habits. If you're looking for visuals, searching for images online can give you a good idea. For example, here's a 10-year-old lithops!

Thanks for sharing! I was mainly finding jade plants, so this helps a lot!

Some succulents with a rosette shape will grow taller over time, but not all will develop into thick stems like a tree. I once saw Echeveria in a botanical garden that grew a few meters long because the stem couldn't support its weight!

That's such a cool growth habit! I just got a little succulent garden as a gift, and I'm excited to see how they develop. So far, I've only seen the smaller varieties. Unfortunately, I haven't had much luck keeping them alive!

Here's my mature jade plant! We've had it for a long time, so I'm not exactly sure how old it is, but the stem is definitely thicker than a beer can!

Wow, that jade plant looks amazing!
