I've noticed a gap at the top of my dryer vent where it exits to the outside, and I'm looking for advice on how to seal it effectively. I'm concerned because hornets and other bugs are trying to get in, and I definitely want to avoid any pest problems. What materials or methods would you recommend for sealing this gap?

Duct tape might come to mind for some, but it's really not the best option for this situation. Instead, you might want to use caulk or metal HVAC tape depending on how big the gap is. Those options will provide a more durable seal and can handle the heat better than duct tape.
If there's light coming through the hose, that probably means there's a gap there too. Your best bet is to use some metal HVAC tape, especially at the point where it’s connected to the vent. Just make sure whatever you use still allows for future cleaning, so you don't get stuck with a mess later!

I get what you're saying, but I heard duct tape can be a fire hazard. Better safe than sorry, right?
