I'm planning to cut a 2x4 to 6' with a circular saw and I'm wondering if the 2' offcut might pinch during the cut. I've clamped the rest of the wood down to a bench using a speed square. Also, I'm planning to do the same with some 4x4s later but I'll be rotating them. This is my first time doing this, so any tips would be appreciated!

You're fine! The risk of pinching mainly happens when both ends are supported and the wood can flex inward. Just keep in mind that cutting this way may lead to splintering, and it might ding when it hits the floor. If that’s not a worry for your project, then you’re clear to go!
Nope, the offcut should just drop to the floor as long as you cut all the way through. Just make sure that end isn't supported. You'll be good!
Got it! The picture might've looked like it was supported, but it’s actually hanging free.

I actually put down a moving blanket to catch it—trying to keep the noise down since it's for an outdoor structure. I’ll stick with rough cuts, those other methods get tricky with the support issue.
