What Finish Should I Use for My Cooking Spatula?

I'm seeking some advice on finishing my mahogany spatula that I plan to use while cooking, especially for tasks that involve hot pans or boiling water. I've heard that certain oils can be suitable for spatulas intended for salads, but I'm unsure if linseed oil or mineral oil would be appropriate for a spatula that will face high heat. What's everyone's take on this?

Honestly, I recommend steering clear of mineral oil since it'll wash off into your pan and is kind of useless for a cooking utensil. Linseed, walnut, or tung oil could work well since they polymerize and provide lasting protection, but just know they'll eventually wear off. If you're looking for durability, I'd suggest either going with no finish or using one of those polymerizing oils instead.
