I'm dealing with a pesky situation where I need to remove some set base concrete from a fence post hole that's about 2-3 feet deep. The hole also has rotting wood from an old post, which adds to the challenge. Any tips or recommendations on how to tackle this?

One effective way to break up that concrete is to use a jackhammer. Just chip away at it until you can pull the pieces out by hand. It might take some elbow grease, but it usually does the trick!
If you're really struggling with the depth, you could consider leaving it as is. But if it’s right at a panel partition, then you might have to remove it to install a new post properly. It could be easier to add two new posts on either side for stability instead of deep diving into this mess.
To help with the wood situation, you might want to get a fire going using kerosene to burn that leftover wood away. After that, use a tool like a post hole digger to pull the concrete out. It's a bit of a hassle, but I’ve had success with it in the past.
