I'm looking for replacement plastic strips that fit into the grooves of my aluminum storm windows, which were installed back in 1964. The existing plastic pieces in the channels are all deteriorated, and I need to replace them. The dimensions are about 3/8 inch wide and 1/8 inch thick. I believe I could use solid rectangle strips instead of the original formed shapes. If anyone knows where I can buy these, preferably made from a high-quality slippery plastic, I would appreciate your suggestions. They might be referred to as window guides, sash guides, or window channel liners.

You might want to check with local hobbyist or "Maker" groups that handle 3D printing. They could have the capability to create custom pieces just the way you need them.
Although I couldn’t see the photo, have you tried using a strip from a kids' sled? Those materials seem pretty suitable for sliding, and it might just work!
Great idea! I looked it up and those sleds are made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), which is durable and slippery. I’m a bit worried about thickness, but it definitely steered me in the right direction.

Thanks for the suggestion! I hadn't thought about 3D printing. It's definitely worth exploring since the technology has come a long way.
