Should I Choose a Rigid or a Shop Vac for Dust Collection?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to replace my shop vac. I already have a Dewalt cordless for smaller jobs, but I need something better for collecting dust from my miter saw and general shop cleanup. I'm hoping to find something that offers both good pressure and volume. Any recommendations? Thanks!

If you don’t mind spending a bit more, the Hercules dust extractor is definitely worth it. It may be pricier than a regular vac, but the features make it way more suitable for woodworking tasks.

I switched to the Dewalt Stealth, and I love it! It’s really quiet and has a ton of power. I liked my first one so much that I bought a smaller version too. Definitely keep an eye out for sales; I snagged mine for $100!

Totally agree! I upgraded from an old Ridgid and it’s such a relief not dealing with that noisy monster anymore.

I highly recommend checking out the Harbor Freight dust extractor. It's way quieter than a standard shop vac and it actually turns on automatically with your tools, which is super handy!

Plus, it self-cleans its filters, so you won’t lose suction over time. Honestly, I wish I'd gone this route instead of getting a regular vac with a cyclone attachment.
