Hey everyone! I had a little mishap with a mouse getting behind my stove, and my boyfriend went a bit heavy on the Great Stuff Pest Block foam, covering the area behind the stove quite thickly. He sealed up the baseboard and extended it a few inches up the wall and even got some on the floor. I don't care about the aesthetics since no one will see it, but I'm really worried about how hot it can get behind the stove. Is this foam safe back there? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

If you're really concerned, you can trim the excess foam and cover it up with some galvanized steel flashing over the holes. That way, you add a layer of protection!
That foam can ignite at temperatures around 240°F. While the back of your stove probably doesn't reach that high during normal use, there's still a fire risk to consider.
As long as your stove is functioning properly, it shouldn't be a major issue. Just be cautious if anything greasy spills back there, since the foam could catch fire then. Maybe check how hot the front gets during cooking—especially with any glass surfaces. It’s not ideal, but it might not be a big problem either.
Thanks for the info! Since it's already there and hard to remove, I guess I should just keep an eye on it. We never leave the stove unattended, so hopefully that helps.
