Hey everyone! I'm looking to improve my lawn care game and could use some advice on my current plan. I live in north-eastern Massachusetts (zone 6b) and I've finally got the time to focus on my lawn after neglecting it for a while. I used some AI tools to generate a lawn care schedule and I'd love for you to check it out and provide feedback on any areas where I may be going wrong or if I've missed something important.
So, I have a mix of sunny (1,600 sq ft) and shady spots (2,800 sq ft) in my yard, and here's what I'm looking at in terms of gear:
- Scotts Elite spreader
- Chapin hose-end sprayer for pest control
- Taylor soil thermometer
- Rain gauge
Here's my schedule for the year, starting in March and going through November. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, I'd advise going for a more natural approach. Rather than relying on chemicals, consider planting a clover or creeping thyme lawn. These options are better for biodiversity and often require less maintenance than traditional grass. Just a thought!
Hey, your plan is a solid start, but I've got a few tweaks I recommend. For one, you shouldn't overseed so soon after applying Prodiamine (Barricade). Try using Dimension instead; it can help with crabgrass later on too. Also, it sounds like you might be overdoing it with the pest control—I'd focus more on broadleaf weed control for dandelions. Definitely check your soil pH before adding lime; it’ll help your fertilizer work better. And don't skip fertilizing twice in the fall for best results! Good luck, it’ll be rewarding!

Thanks for the tips!
