Can I Mix Epoxy Floor Paint for Two Coats on Different Days?

I'm in the process of turning my small garage into a home gym and I've got some 2-part epoxy floor paint (5L + 1L). I have more than enough for two coats, but I'm wondering if it's okay to mix 2.5L with 0.5L for the first coat today and then mix the remainder for the second coat tomorrow. Will it harden too much if I wait until the next day?

Here are a couple of tips: 1. Ask if they have a mix ratio by weight. Kitchen scales can help you get it right since volume ratios aren’t always accurate due to density differences. 2. Make sure to follow the instructions—mix part A, then part B, and finally combine them. Skipping steps can lead to poor results!

You should definitely go for that split mixing! There’s no reason you can't do it that way. Just make sure to mix each part well before combining them for the best results.

It might be wise to check with the manufacturer before you start. Sometimes a finish won't stick well to itself if one coat has completely dried or cured. Better safe than sorry!

Good point! I’ll reach out to them. Thanks a ton! ?
