Best Sherwin-Williams Paint for Vinyl Shutters and Front Door?

I'm in a bit of a pickle after visiting my local Sherwin-Williams store. I need to paint a pair of exterior vinyl shutters along with my front door and the sidelight windows. These are in a porch space that only gets morning sun, so I'm thinking a quart of satin finish paint will do. I heard that the Duration paint is good but it only comes in bigger sizes, and the staff suggested Emerald or Latitude since they come in quart sizes. However, they also mentioned Urethane Trim paint, which I'm not sure is right for vinyl. There's a 40% sale going on, and I'd really like to make a decision soon, but I'm feeling more confused than ever! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I’ve had great luck using Krylon’s exterior spray paint for plastic on my vinyl shutters. They’ve held up against direct sunlight for 8 years now! Just make sure to clean the shutters well before painting, as using a brush or roller can be super tedious!

Good to know! I only have one pair of shutters, so it shouldn’t be too hard for me!

For painting vinyl, definitely use a high bonding primer first and then a 100% acrylic paint. Just a heads up, avoid going darker than the current color because that can cause the vinyl to warp from heat. I tried using Rustoleum spray paint on my shutters years ago, and they still look great after 15 years!

Good point about the primer! I'm planning to use Kilz interior/exterior spray primer for mine.

Absolutely, the primer is crucial!
