Did DeWalt Drop the XR Badge from the DCS382 Reciprocating Saw?

Hey everyone! I recently ordered the DeWalt 20V MAX XR reciprocating saw (DCS382BF) from acmetools.com, and when it arrived, I noticed something odd. The box is labeled DCS382B and the saw itself just says DCS382, with only the word 'Brushless' on the side—no XR badge like in the product photos I saw online. I reached out to DeWalt's support, and they mentioned that the term 'XR' is merely a marketing label for extended runtime, and it seems like they're phasing it out on various tools and batteries. Is there any truth to this?

Yeah, it looks like the DCS382 and even the DCS365 circular saw no longer carry the XR branding. Since last summer when DeWalt revamped their XR line, they're keeping that label exclusive for their top-tier tools and batteries now.

I noticed that too! There are actually two versions of the DCS382 listed on Home Depot's website. One has the XR while the other doesn't. It’s just a visual update; both versions are essentially the same tool.
