Hey everyone! I'm new to the DIY scene and about to pick up a DeWalt Circular Saw and Impact Driver. I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the battery options out there. Specifically, I'm looking into the Goodexo 2X DCB184 batteries (18V, 5.0Ah) and I'm curious if they're suitable for my DeWalt tools which include the DEWALT DCF887N Impact Driver and the DEWALT DCS391 Circular Saw. Also, do all of these DeWalt batteries fit different tools, or do I need unique batteries for each one? Thanks for any help!

All DeWalt batteries are 20V, so they’ll generally work on any device, but the saws do benefit from at least a 4Ah battery for better performance. I like using lighter batteries for the impact driver to keep it manageable.
Runtime and reliability are key! A 2Ah battery can drain pretty quickly when using a circular saw, so I stick with the 5Ah for those heavy jobs. They last longer, about 50-60 minutes, plus they charge back up fast. The weight can be a factor, but I find the 5Ah batteries have a good balance.
For simplicity, buying a powerstack starter kit could be a good plan. They're lightweight enough for the impact driver and provide plenty of juice for the saw, too!
2Ah batteries are decent for the impact driver, but if you're okay with a little extra weight, the 5Ah ones are more versatile. I tend to grab the 5Ah for most tasks since they last longer. Just remember to check if the batteries fit all your tools!
If you’re just starting out, getting a mix of battery capacities is ideal. A couple of small ones and a few bigger batteries should do just fine. Just steer clear of those cheap aftermarket batteries and chargers; they can be a hassle!
Definitely! Spend a bit more for the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) batteries for safety. A 2Ah battery works great with the impact driver, but for the saw, I'd recommend at least a 5Ah for better performance.

That's my main concern too! Do all DeWalt batteries work interchangeably across different tools, or are there specific ones I should keep in mind?
