I'm trying to get a good deal on a Dewalt 60v lawn mower and I'm curious about the price difference. The DCMWSP700Y2 costs $150 more than the DCMWSP650Y2, and from what I've found, the major differences seem to be in run time (85 minutes for the 700Y2 versus 75 minutes for the 650Y2) and the presence of LED headlights, which I don't think I'll use. Both models come with two 60v DCB612 batteries and DCB1104 A chargers, as well as other standard lawn mower accessories. My yard is about 1/3 of an acre in a suburban cul-de-sac. Any insights on whether the 700Y2 is worth the extra cash?

Actually, I dug into this a bit, and the 650Y2 might be even better in some situations. If you already own another 60v battery, you could extend your run time significantly. I found that the run time listed for the 650Y2 (up to 75 minutes) is based on one battery at a time, but since you can swap them, you can make it last longer if you're strategic about it. I think the dual slots in the 700Y2 just sounds better, but I don't know if the real-world difference is $150 worth, especially since both models come with 2 batteries and chargers.
The main advantage of the DCMWSP700Y2 is that it can hold two batteries, which is pretty handy. You can switch to the second battery when the first one dies without having to run back for a spare. If you find it on sale, it can make the extra cost worth it. Sure, swapping batteries isn't a chore if you're just doing it occasionally, but it definitely simplifies things. That said, if you don’t mind swapping batteries manually, the 650Y2 might work just fine for you.
Totally agree! Plus, the 700Y2 has a cool feature that lets you select the blade speed—low, high, or auto modes. That’s not available on the other models, which could be a game-changer depending on your lawn conditions.

Right! And just to clarify about those battery usages—both models run in succession with the batteries, not simultaneously. So that might affect how you see the runtime difference based on your mowing strategy!
