Help! My Pine Table is Still Sticky After Applying Polyurethane!

Hey everyone! My wife recently refurbished a pine table by sanding, staining, and sealing it. We ran into trouble with the polyurethane step, though. I suggested spraying it on, but that may not have been the best choice. After we re-sanded, we applied an oil-based polyurethane in humid conditions, and let it dry in the garage. Unfortunately, it's been about two weeks, and the surface is still sticky. We moved it inside to see if that would help, but it's only improved a little. I'm wondering what the best course of action is. Should we re-sand and start over, which I think might be necessary? My wife is eager to use the table, but I'm worried that if we leave it like this, dust and dirt will stick to it. What should we do?

I’d definitely suggest refinishing it. If you can, try running a dehumidifier in the garage next time while it dries. Also, how long did you let the stain dry before applying the poly? That might affect the outcome too!

We let the stain dry for about 48 hours, I believe.
