What Should I Do with My Succulents in a Humid Basement During Winter?

Hey everyone, I'm located in Germany and I'm a bit concerned about how to care for my succulents and cacti this winter. I know many of them need to go dormant, but I lack a suitable spot in my house where the temperature can drop to 15°C. The only option I have is my basement, but it's quite old and has humidity levels between 70-80%. I'm wondering if this high humidity is detrimental to my plants since I won't be watering them at all during the winter. Any advice?

Honestly, 70-80% humidity is pretty high, even for succulents. While some can adapt to that level, it's not ideal—mold or fungus could become a problem. Also, when you do water, the drying times will be different in that humid environment. You might want to consider improving air circulation down there to help reduce moisture issues.

If your basement conditions are as tough as they sound, it might be worth keeping them in the warmer space with less light, rather than risking mold in the basement. Just be mindful of how quickly they dry out! Maybe try to give them some indirect light if you can.
