What’s the Best Caulking for Trim with Varied Gaps?

I'm working on one room in my house, and I'm trying to decide on the best caulking for trim that sometimes leaves inconsistent gaps from the wall. Should I go with a Husky or an Anvil caulking gun? Does it really make a difference? I'm also torn between Dynaflex 230, Alex Flex, and Big Stretch. I live in Texas, so any climate considerations would be great. I'd recommend Big Stretch, especially for outdoor use, but if you're just working indoors, Dynaflex might be the way to go. It's generally better than Alex in terms of performance. You're going to be okay with any of them as long as they're paintable!

All of those options should do the trick, as long as you're picking something that you can paint over. Personally, I’ve been using DAP ALEX on all sorts of gaps, and it has worked well for me! But I've heard great things about Sherwin Williams too, that's worth considering.

I've always had good results with DAP Alex Flex, it works just fine for me! It’s flexible and easy to apply, but keep in mind, some people say it has its downsides. You might want to hear about some alternatives too.
