I've been shopping for a cordless sander and noticed that the M12 orbital sander is almost double the price compared to the M18. Normally, you'd expect the M18 to be the pricier option, so I'm curious why this price difference exists for the tool-only versions. Can anyone shed some light on this?

It's probably because the M12 is a bit more niche. I've seen plenty of M18 sanders around, but the M12 seems more targeted at auto body work. Milwaukee tends to dominate in the larger construction market, so this might play a part in pricing. I haven't tried the M12 personally yet, but I'd love to compare it with my M18 Fuel.

Yeah, it does make you wonder why the M12 isn't priced lower if it's niche. I’ve seen videos saying the M12 is great because it’s more balanced than the M18. But honestly, I'm leaning towards getting a corded sander because these cordless ones are pricey.
