Why Doesn’t DeWalt Make Metal Cutting Blades for Aluminum?

I'm on the hunt for saw blades to cut thin aluminum and noticed that DeWalt doesn't seem to officially carry any. I've checked their tungsten carbide blades, but they don't mention suitability for aluminum. I did manage to find a DeWalt blade on Amazon that claims to work for aluminum. Also, I saw some options from Milwaukee at Home Depot. I reached out to DeWalt support to clarify, and their response was a bit confusing, stating there are no recommendations for blades that cut aluminum and that their tungsten carbide isn't suitable for non-ferrous metals. Has anyone else run into this? What blades do you recommend?

If you have a fine wood blade, you can actually cut aluminum with it pretty easily. I do it regularly using a miter saw and the blades hold up for a long time. Just keep in mind it works best with thicker pieces—like 1/8 inch or more. I haven't tried it with anything super thin, though, so I can't vouch for that.

Honestly, I’d just skip DeWalt for aluminum and go straight for Diablo blades. They have some designed specifically for aluminum, and I've heard good things about them. I haven't used the aluminum ones myself, but in general, Diablo blades perform really well.

That sounds like a solid plan! I noticed that the DeWalt blade I found doesn't explicitly mention aluminum, but I’ll definitely be checking out the Diablo options you mentioned.

Definitely whatever Diablo blade you choose, just make sure it specifies it's for metals and aluminum. There are a lot of options out there. I'm also curious why DeWalt is so unclear about using their blades for aluminum when so many others claim to work!

Right? It's odd they seem unsure about their products. I think I'll check their website for part numbers to see if they give any help.
