I've had my bathtub resurfaced about 7 years ago, but now it's showing signs of wear like cracks and chipped paint. Since I live in a co-op apartment and want to avoid the toxic smells of resurfacing again, I'm looking for DIY solutions that are non-toxic. Any advice on how to improve its appearance without fully reglazing it?

Honestly, it's impressive your resurfacing held up for that long! Unfortunately, there really aren't non-toxic alternatives that can replace the full resurfacing process. If you're okay with just improving the look a bit, you might consider touch-ups instead. It might not be perfect, but it can help.
If you're thinking about touching it up, just be careful not to attempt glazing unless you're really sure about what you're doing. There are non-toxic touch-up paints available, so check for those. They'll probably help enhance the appearance without going through the whole resurfacing again.
