I've got a wooden fence that's been taking a beating from my neighbor's overly energetic dog. The little furball keeps slamming into it, which has loosened some planks and, unfortunately, my dog even got cut from it today. I need a quick and budget-friendly solution to block off that part of the fence before I leave on a trip. I considered potted plants, but that seems like too much hassle. Any suggestions?

Why not screw some hardware cloth to those loose areas? You could sandwich that between 2x4s and the wooden fence for extra stability.
I had a similar situation and found that putting up an internal chain link fence worked well. It lets you keep an eye on things, and it's pretty durable. Plus, it positions your dog further from the shared fence, which might help calm your neighbor's pup. At one point, I even offered to put up an internal fence on their side to help out! Just keep an eye on it, though; I had to patch up some digging with concrete over time.
For a simple fix, I used chicken wire stapled to my fence posts a few years back, and it's still holding up fine. It might even be worth considering using some 2x4 boards for better attachment. Another option could be getting chain link fencing installed the same way.
A quick option could be to go with steel wire fencing using metal pickets. This meets your requirements for being easy to set up and affordable. You could check out some options at the store like the welded wire for gardens. It’s a solid choice that's straightforward to install.
