What Are Reasonable Costs for Monthly Flower Bed Maintenance?

I'm curious about how often people get their flower beds maintained. Currently, my lawn maintenance person doesn't handle the flower beds, and I really dislike dealing with the weeding and upkeep myself. I usually hire a team for a major cleanup 1-2 times each year, which costs about $400 for a group of 3-4 people, but it's not a consistent arrangement. Instead, I'm wondering if it would be more cost-effective to schedule either monthly or quarterly maintenance to make things easier overall. My property has around 170 linear feet of flower beds featuring a neat natural edge. How often do most people get maintenance done, and what can I expect to pay?

Most of my clients opt for biweekly visits because it keeps the weeds in check without breaking the bank. Weekly services can be a bit pricey for some. If you're looking for a ballpark, biweekly might land you around $100-$150 a month, depending on where you live and what services you're including.

Have you thought about how long it would take you to do the work yourself? If you're able to nail down your own hourly rate, you can get a clearer picture. For instance, the last team I hired took an entire day for that $400 cleanup, so if you divide that by the hours worked, it gives you an hourly rate to compare against hiring someone monthly. Just keep in mind that doing it more frequently usually means shorter, easier work, but it'll still cost a bit.
