I accidentally broke my dad's basement window, and I'm not really sure how to go about fixing it. The window is old, swings in from the top, and is made of wood. I'm wondering if I can take it apart for repair or if I should just look for a replacement. How should I proceed? Also, I have no clue where to find the right replacement. Any advice would be really helpful!

First off, don't stress too much! You can often find local glass repair shops that can help you out. If you can remove the window from the frame, just unscrew the hinges and take the whole thing to them. They can cut a new piece of glass for you and even help with installation. If you prefer, you could hire someone to do it, but it might take longer and cost more. It's definitely worth checking out nearby hardware stores, especially smaller ones; they might have more personalized help!
If the wood frame is still in good condition, I'd suggest you take it apart carefully, clean it up, repaint it, and replace the glass. Wooden windows are still made, so you might find a lumberyard nearby that can help with that. It could save you money and keep that old character!
Sounds like a plan! I’ll check out some lumberyards around here.

Thanks, that’s good to know! I’ll give the local shops a shot. The window's pretty old, so do you think I should just replace the whole thing instead?
