Which Wall is Better for Mounting My TV: Exterior or Kitchen Side?

Asked By PixelPanda88 On

I'm trying to decide where to mount my TV and I have two options. One wall is an exterior wall, while the other is the back wall of my kitchen where there's a cabinet on the other side. I'm worried about whether mounting the TV on the kitchen wall will overload the studs. Is it safer to go with the exterior wall?

Think more about how you'll use the space! Consider where you want to face in the room and if any windows will create glare on the TV. Plus, look for where your power outlets are; that might help guide your decision too.

Good point about the glare! I hadn’t thought about that with the windows.

You should be good to go with either wall! Most stud walls can handle the weight of a TV without any issues. Just make sure you’re securely mounting it to the studs.

Honestly, both walls will work just fine for mounting your TV. Just keep in mind, if you want to run cables through the wall, the exterior one might have insulation that could complicate things a bit.
