Do I Really Need to Keep My M18 Impact if My M12 Works Fine?

Hey everyone! I picked up an M18 impact tool about a month ago, but it's still sitting in its box. I haven't used it yet because my M12 impact has been performing really well for all my handyman tasks like working on decks and trim. Now I'm starting to wonder if I should hold onto the M18 or just sell it since it's still brand new. For those of you who have both, is the M18 worth keeping, or is the M12 sufficient for day-to-day handyman work?

Hey, just curious—are you using a hex impact? I’ve found that the M12 does the job well, even for auto work! It's light and handy for most tasks. Plus, if your M12 is meeting all your needs, maybe consider letting the M18 go. No harm in keeping it, though, if you're curious!

Yeah, I totally get that! The M12 is nice for smaller jobs. But if you think you might tackle bigger projects, having the M18 could come in handy for those heavier tasks.

The M12 peak torque is about 1,500, while the M18 hits 2,000. If the M12 works for you now, it might not be necessary to keep the M18. But remember, that extra torque can be useful for tougher jobs! Just weigh your options.

True! If you think you’ll eventually need that extra power, it could be worth keeping the M18 just in case. Sometimes having the right tool makes all the difference!
