Looking to Upgrade My Interior Doors—Got Any Suggestions?

I've just moved into a new place and the interior doors are super cheap. They feel hollow and almost plastic, not really what I'm after. I'm really hoping to upgrade to some high-quality heavy wood doors, preferably not white but something that matches my natural oak floors. I'm thinking of going for brass and crystal or glass knobs. I'm not sure where to shop for these or if there are companies that do installation too. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Home Depot is a good start, but it all depends on your budget and the sizes of your doors. If you're going for matching trim or stain-grade wood, prices can jump up significantly. Make sure to have a clear idea of what you want and be prepared to spend.

Great tips! Also, don’t forget to check for sales or discounts—they can really help keep costs down.

I had a similar problem with a historic home I bought. All the doors were solid wood except one that had been replaced by previous owners. I went to a local lumber and door company that made a custom door matching the original ones. It wasn’t cheap, but totally worth it! They did offer installation services if you need that too. Just search for "custom doors and milling near me" and you'll find some good options!

Check out local contractor supply stores. They often have better products and prices compared to big box stores. I found a shop called Surplus Building Materials that does solid core doors and offers customization options. Even better, they support the local economy and sometimes carry surplus materials for less. Ask around at stores in your area; don’t hesitate to explore all your options!

Absolutely! Supporting local businesses is a win-win, especially when they offer quality products.
