Dewalt DCF870 Drill Hesitating Before Drilling: What’s Going On?

I've been having a frustrating issue with my Dewalt DCF870 drill. Whenever I try to sink in a screw, the drill hesitates right before I start drilling. It's not dead but acts like it is—I have to pull the trigger again to get it going. Has anyone experienced this?

Also, have you tried using a different battery? Sometimes the issue can be with the battery itself rather than the drill.

It sounds like a warranty issue; these drills should still be under warranty since they just came out last fall. You might want to check the details with where you bought it, like Acme, to see if you can get it serviced or replaced.

Have you checked if your batteries are stored in a cold environment? That can sometimes cause issues with performance. Just wanted to rule that out!
