Hey everyone! I've got about three dozen cans of applesauce and pickled pepper relish that have been sitting in my basement for almost 10 years. I thought I labeled them correctly, but it seems like they've overstayed their welcome. I'm considering mixing them into my soil ahead of planting next spring, but I'm worried about the high vinegar content in the pickled peppers. What do you think? Is it safe to use these canned goods in my garden?

Yes to compost! But no to putting them right into the garden beds. Better safe than sorry!
Absolutely, you can compost those old canned goods! Just make sure to break them down a bit before adding them to your compost pile. But I wouldn't recommend putting them directly into your garden beds since they could create more issues than benefits. Just stick to composting them for now.
For sure, toss them into your compost! I did the same when I cleaned out my pantry a few months back. Just be cautious about not adding them directly to the beds. It might mess things up a bit with the vinegar and all.
