Anyone else feeling overwhelmed with seed starting?

I've been gardening for about a year now, and I'm starting to really dread the process of seed starting. I've got ADHD, which makes managing the starting, potting, and hardening off a bit of a challenge. At first, I direct sowed everything and got great results. But now that it's consistently hot, I find myself disliking the tasks more and more. Here in Alabama, with temperatures soaring into the upper 90s, I'm already dealing with garden fatigue. Add in some lightning scares, endless weeding, and new pests I can't identify, and I'm just over it. I feel like I'm constantly fighting against everything in my garden and would rather not tackle seed starting right now. Anyone relate? Any advice on how to stay motivated?

It sounds like you might need a break! If you don't absolutely need those seedlings right now, consider letting the fall planting season pass. Just enjoy what's growing and maybe start fresh after the holidays. Gardening can take a toll, so it’s okay to take it easy!

Agreed! I’ve been gardening for years and just started trying seed starting too. There’s no pressure to do a whole bunch of fall crops; sometimes it’s okay to take a breather.
