Hey everyone! I just got a white carpet for my living room, but I couldn't find a colorful one that fit my budget. So, I'm thinking about upgrading it myself. Has anyone tried coloring a carpet with markers? I'm curious about how durable the color is. I considered using textile markers, but I worry they might fade quickly. Maybe textile paint would be better, but I don't want to lose the softness of the carpet. Any advice?

You should definitely check out YouTube or some DIY blogs for videos on how to dye carpet. There are plenty of tutorials that could really guide you through the process! Good luck!
Honestly, I'm not sure this is a great idea for a whole room carpet. If you're talking about a rug, some materials can be dyed, and you could use fabric dye or even specific carpet dyes, depending on the fabric. Just check the material first!
Just a heads up, if you go the marker route, you might end up with colorful footprints everywhere! It could stain your socks and leave a trail around the house. Just something to keep in mind!
Oh wow, that's a good point. I'll definitely consider that!

Thanks! I’ll see what I can find there!
