Can I Extend the Leads on My LiTime Battery Balancer?

Hey everyone! I have a quick question about my LiTime battery balancer. It's designed for a 12V battery per circuit in a 24V setup. I can't reposition my batteries to fit the wiring that comes with the balancer, so I'm thinking of opening it up to extend the leads instead. I plan to make all the leads the same length as the longest one. Is this a reasonable modification? Have any of you done something similar? I'd really appreciate any advice!

You don't need to worry about opening the balancer! Just extend the leads externally using the same wire gauge or even thicker. The balancer's peak current is around 10A, so the wires need to handle that comfortably. The length of the wires doesn't have to be equal as long as the difference isn't extreme. Just make sure the connections are solid!

Thanks for confirming that! I was worried I might mess something up.

As for balancing, it measures voltages without any current flowing through the leads, so slightly different lengths won't affect performance unless one is way longer than the other. Just ensure your extensions are reasonable and you should be good to go!

Great to know! It makes sense that the voltage readings aren't affected like that.
