I recently bought a house and I'm considering getting an inflatable hot tub since it's more affordable. My fiancé is excited about it, but I'm a bit worried about the setup. I currently don't have outdoor outlets, but I can run the power cord through a hole in my garage to an outlet inside. The only place I can think to set up the hot tub is in a neglected area off our back deck, but that's right next to my electrical panel. I'm not sure if it's safe to place it there given all the cords and electrical boxes in that area. Also, I'm concerned about steam and water weight. Am I overthinking this? Any advice would be appreciated!

Totally get where you're coming from! If you’re thinking about using an outdoor heavy-duty extension cord, just make sure it’s rated for the load. It sounds like keeping it further from the electrical panel might be a good idea, especially for safety. It's smart to be cautious about placement and weight; you'll want to make sure the ground can support the tub and any bathers without any issues.
Definitely make sure the heater has a GFCI plug, as safety should be your top priority! If it doesn't, look into plugging it into a GFCI outlet. It's really important when you're dealing with water and electricity. Generally, it's best to keep the tub at least 10-15 feet away from any electrical boxes or hanging wires. Just remember, once filled, the hot tub can weigh a ton, so make sure whatever surface you’re putting it on can handle that weight!
Good to know! I'll definitely check the weight capacity of the area.

Thanks for the tip! I was worried about the weight and stability.
