Hey everyone! I'm new to this community and seeking advice on small trees. I have a limited space in front of my bedroom window, and I'm looking for a tree that won't grow taller than about 6 feet. I'd really appreciate any suggestions you landscaping fans might have. Thanks a ton!

Where are you located and is the spot in sun or shade? It’s important to think about how much light you want in your room, plus how big the window is. Something on the side might work better. Also, what’s your reason for wanting a tree there? Is it for shade, aesthetics, or maybe to attract birds?
Welcome! There are some great small tree options that stick to around 6 feet and won't block your view:
- **Dwarf Japanese Maple**: They have stunning shapes and colors, especially the red varieties, and they maintain a nice compact size.
- **Dwarf Crape Myrtle**: These bring seasonal color and have beautiful bark even in winter.
- **Serviceberry 'Regent'**: A small tree that blooms in the spring and provides berries that birds love.
- **Little Gem Magnolia**: If you're in a warmer area, this one has lovely evergreen leaves and large flowers.
- **Topiary Wax Myrtle or Boxwood**: For a neat and formal look that doesn’t require much maintenance.
Also, consider using ornamental trees in containers—they allow for flexibility in size and placement! Let us know your growing zone and if you want shade or flowers, so we can help narrow it down more!
Thanks for the info! Just checked out those options, and they really are beautiful!

Good points! The spot gets full sunlight, and while I prefer not to block all the light, I'd rather have some privacy than have people peeking in. My bedroom is on the first floor by the street.
