Mystery Wet Spot in Backyard Despite Normal Water Usage?

Hey everyone! I've got a bit of a puzzling situation in my backyard. I've noticed a big wet spot for the last few days, but there hasn't been any rain or sprinkler activity to explain it. Initially, I thought my sprinkler system might be leaking. However, after checking my water usage online, everything looks normal—lots of gaps without usage and overall it seems just fine. Is it possible that if there is a very slow leak, it wouldn't show up in my online usage? I'm totally open to any suggestions you might have!

For some context, we had some soil brought in to level part of the backyard about a week ago, and the issue started right after that. They only used wheelbarrows—no heavy machinery, and to my knowledge, there wasn't any digging done. However, they did leave the sprinkler head exposed, and I'm wondering if that might have caused something.

Update: I checked the water meter, and it shows zero usage. It stopped because I'm not using any water. I even called the utility company for help, but they confirmed no usage at all. I'm so baffled here! The wet spot is in the back corner of my yard, far from anything that might drip or leak.

Make sure no water is running in your house and check your actual water meter. If it's still moving when everything's off, then you've likely got a leak somewhere.

I already checked the meter, and it was completely stopped the whole time I looked. No leaks detected, which is just mind-boggling!

Have you checked if your water meter has a leak detection dial? It often has a red or blue triangle that spins if there's any water usage. Sometimes it can turn slowly with a tiny leak. That could give you a clue about what's going on!

Good idea! I will check that out and let you know what I find!

I looked into it as well, and my meter doesn't show any leaks or usage... Just completely stopped. Now I'm even more puzzled!
