I'm looking for advice on how to patch up a crack in my bathtub, at least until my landlord can come back and replace it. I'm not very handy with home repairs, and my wife has been working long hours, so I'm trying to handle this myself. The shower/tub combo has a horizontal crack about an inch wide, located on the side that faces the outside wall, a couple of inches above the bottom. The tub flexes slightly when pressure is applied to that spot, so I'm worried about what could seal it without causing leaks until my landlord returns. Any tips on making it safe for showers would be greatly appreciated!

Have you thought about using Flex Seal tape? It’s super easy to apply and might help hold things together until your landlord gets back. Just make sure to clean the surface before applying it for better adhesion.
You might want to check with your landlord first to see if he has any instructions. If he doesn't mind what you do, I’d suggest using epoxy to seal the crack. Just let him know your plan in case he has a better suggestion or any concerns.
Since he's going to replace it, he said he doesn't care what we do in the meantime to the tub itself. It's a plastic type, so the whole unit has to go. He's pretty chill, family friend.
Great, just be sure to look up how to properly apply the epoxy for the best results!

If that'll hold, I'll definitely give it a try. Thank y'all for taking the time to educate a new housewife. ?
